What PDFPilot is
PDFPilot is a free set of browser-based PDF tools for everyday tasks: merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, extracting and deleting pages, adding watermarks and page numbers, and converting between PDF and JPG. There is no account, no sign-up and nothing to install.
Your files never leave your device
When you choose a file, your browser reads it into your device’s memory. The processing is done by two well-known open-source libraries, pdf-lib and PDF.js (from Mozilla), which run inside the page. The result is created locally and offered as a download. PDFPilot has no upload endpoint for documents, so there is nothing to store, share or delete on our side.
How to check it yourself
- Open your browser’s developer tools (F12) and select the Network tab.
- Process a file with any tool.
- You will see no outgoing request carrying your document.
You can also open a tool, wait a few seconds for it to load fully, disconnect from the internet, and process a file. It still works, because nothing is sent to a server.
What is not processed locally

What’s available and what’s coming
Merge PDF, Split PDF, Compress PDF, JPG to PDF, PDF to JPG, Rotate PDF, Delete PDF Pages, Extract PDF Pages, Watermark PDF, Add Page Numbers, Edit PDF are available now. PDF to Word, PDF to Excel, Protect PDF, Unlock PDF, Sign PDF are marked Coming Soon. They will be released only when they can run reliably in the browser.
Limits
Files can be up to 100 MB each. Because processing uses your device’s memory and processor, very large files are slower on older phones. Password-protected, damaged or unusual PDFs may not open.
Independence
PDFPilot is not affiliated with Adobe, iLovePDF, Smallpdf or any government agency.
